The CTP-2000C Variable Frequency CT/PT Characteristics Tester performs excitation (volt-ampere) characteristic, turns ratio, polarity, secondary winding resistance and burden tests on current transformers and instrument transformers automatically. No standard CT, no external high-current source, no regulating control box and no burden box are required - simply enter the nameplate data and press start.

- All-in-one testing: excitation (V-I) characteristic, turns ratio, polarity, secondary winding resistance, secondary burden, ratio error and phase error for CTs; excitation, ratio, polarity and winding resistance for PTs.
- Automatic results: knee-point voltage/current, 5% and 10% error curves, accuracy limit factor (ALF), instrument security factor (FS), secondary time constant (Ts), remanence factor (Kr), composite error, saturated and unsaturated inductance, and more.
- Low-frequency test method: characterises CTs with knee-point voltages up to 40 kV and above, using only a 0-180 Vrms / 12 Arms output (36 A peak) - safe for the winding and for the operator.
- One connection, one click: apart from the burden test, all CT items are completed with a single wiring arrangement.
- Standards compliant: IEC 60044-1 (GB 1208), IEC 60044-6 (GB 16847) and GB 1207, selected automatically according to transformer type and class.
- All CT classes supported: P, PR, PX, TPS, TPX, TPZ, TPY and metering classes.
- 10-inch colour graphical LCD with built-in printer for instant curve and data print-out.
- Large data memory: 2000 test records retained after power loss, USB export, and PC software that generates Word reports and compares up to 10 excitation curves.
